From its very beginning, in 1880, the Company assumes an important role both in Italy and globally, building dams and hydroelectric plants, ports and maritime works, hydraulic and irrigation projects, civil works for thermal and nuclear power plants, environmental protection issues.

Goals and challenges
The Company had to face an unprecedented hydraulic challenge: the groundwater management in “Ayla Oasis Project” dewatering in Aqaba – Jordan.
The goal was transforming 430 hectares of desert into a beautiful oasis crossed by lagoons and surrounded by resorts, luxury residences and facilities.
The main problem was about engineering: lowering by about 5m the aquifer water table to carry out the work according to the project. It was essential a precise control of the dynamic levels of aquifers and imposing a constant dewatering.
